Founder and President of Al-Ansar Foundation visits Mariri Orphanage Boarding School, Kano

The Founder and President of Al-Ansar Foundation, Dr. Mohammed Kyari Dikwa, mni together with members of Al-Ansar Foundation were today at the Mariri Orphanage Boarding School, Kano to visit the 200 orphan students that are studying in Kano since they were brought from different towns and villages devastated by the Boko Haram insurgency in 2015.

The Founder and President and his team had earlier in the day met with the Executive Governor of Kano State, H.E., Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf to pay a courtesy visit to discuss issues bordering on education, social welfare and women and youth empowerment among others. The Founder and President further pledged his unflagging support to the Governor Abba Kabir-led administration in ensuring that education remains a top priority for the people of the state in particular and the region in general. The Founder and President reiterated that education remains one of the cardinal objectives of the Foundation and stands to support any person, entity or government ready to partner with the Foundation to expand the frontiers of education in the country.

The Foundation has been supporting the school orphans for the past 5 years and the Founder found it necessary to visit the schoolchildren to see their welfare for himself. At the school, the Founder and President applauded the efforts of the Ministry of Education, under the able leadership of Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa, who has been steadfast in overseeing the welfare of the schoolchildren. Also, the Founder and President commended Hon. Fanta Baba Shehu, who has remained a pillar and mother of the schoolchildren since they left Borno State in 2015. He named her Ummul Aytam (Mother of Orphans) and prayed to Allah SWT to bless her with Jannatul Firdaus.

At the end of the event, the Founder and President distributed assorted food and non-food items as well as cash gifts to the staff and students of the school and wished them well in their studies.
