Today, is indeed another breakthrough in the history of Borno and indeed Al-Ansar Foundation, for launching and commissioning of Al-Ansar Security Services Limited and its Corporate Headquarters, in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital. This component of Al-Ansar Foundation is founded by an illustrious son of Borno, Dr Mohammed Kyari Dikwa, mni, who is equally the Founder and President of the Foundation.
It may interest this gathering to note that, I had performed similar functions on 4th January, 2021, precisely one year ago, with landmark projects executed by the Foundation which include: Al-Ansar Radio, Al-Ansar Academy and laid the foundation stone for the construction of the first ever private and indigenous University in Maiduguri as well as the second private University in this part of the country.
It is also pertinent to note that private security guards are critical part of the security network system of any nation, this is because of the important role they play in safeguarding lives and properties of the populace. I strongly believe that if the security agencies collaborate with private security companies, there would be a definite drop in most of the common prevalent crimes in the State and the country at large. Therefore, if the synergy is there, the guards will be useful in fighting crimes in our communities.
Distinguished invited guests, ladies and gentlemen, let me state without an iota of doubt that, Al-Ansar Foundation is among the fastest growing Organisations in the country, because of its laudable policies and programmes that has direct bearing on the most vulnerable in the society. This far reaching decision of establishing a private security outfit in this part of the country will no doubt be beneficial to the citizenry and the State in particular, as is going to provide job opportunities to our teeming unemployed youths and rid the society from social vices thereby bringing crimes and criminalities to the lowest level especially at this critical time of resettlement of displaced communities.
I must commend the doggedness and untiring efforts of the Founder and President of the Foundation, Dr Mohammed Kyari, who have chosen the path of investing in his home State, in spite of the lingering security challenges bedevilling the State and the North-East region in general.
Let me reiterate that, our administration is concern about the upsurge of unemployment in the State. We therefore have no other option than to explore all available opportunities to generate employment to our teeming youths in order to reduce youth restiveness. This informed our decision to establish the Borno State Guidance and Counselling Board, to purposely source for job opportunities in various Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies for our unemployed youths. I am proud to inform you that the Board have so far secured job opportunities to over 1000 candidates spread across the 27 Local Government Areas.
In view of this development, I wish to reiterate that Government is ever ready to provide the enabling environment to ensure the smooth take-off of this private security outfit or any other similar initiative that will provide job opportunities that could boost our recovery efforts. We must therefore make a concerted effort to put it on track. I therefore urge all critical stakeholders to give all the necessary cooperation to Al-Ansar Security Services to enable it function effectively. Let me use this medium to appeal to all well spirited individuals to come home and invest wisely in order to facilitate our recovery efforts as Government is ever ready to provide the all the needed support for those interested.
We really remain appreciative to Dr Mohammed Kyari Dikwa, mni, for citing his investments in his home State. This is a clear manifestation of a true statesman, hence the need to be emulated by all and sundry for the betterment of the State. I therefore, urge you to sustain these significant efforts for the advancement of the State.
To this end, let me once again most sincerely appreciate and applaud the singular efforts of this great illustrious son and his collaborators for the numerous interventions of great significance to the State. May the Almighty Allah (SWT) bless this security outfit for the benefit of the society.
